This guy is the epitome of soul and r&b, He has graced the world with his presence ever since I could remember and he isnt done just yet. I am 22 years of age and he has came back. Do you ever think this guy will stop? Actually Not!!!! He is an all time favorite that will constanly win people over with his love/soul songs. He keeps you from crying to smiling from sitting down to dancing!!!

• Attended community college in Detroit.
• Baptist.
• Vocalist. Sang as a teenager in Detroit nightclubs, mid-1970s; joined group Chapter 8, late 1970s; signed with Beverly Glen label, 1983; signed with Elektra, 1986; signed with Atlantic label, 1996 (released on albums); signed with Blue Note, 2004.

Life's Work

Anita Baker's rich and entirely distinctive alto voice has invited comparisons that range beyond the world of contemporary pop to include mention of such legendary jazz figures as Sarah Vaughan and Nancy Wilson. She was born in 1957 or 1958 in Toledo, Ohio, perhaps on January 26 or December 20, and grew up in Detroit's inner city. Her birth mother, who was only 16 when Anita was born, abandoned her, leaving her in the care of a woman who has been variously described as a friend and as a relative; this woman, Mary Lewis, became her foster mother. When Anita was 13, her foster mother died, and an older sister in her adoptive family told her the truth about her past. This older adoptive sister, Lois Landry, raised Anita.

Corinne Bailey Rae

"Just like a star across my sky, just like an angel off the page, you have appeared to my life, feels like i'll never be the same, just like a song im my heart, just like oil on my hands". These are lyrics too one of my all time favorite British song writer, Corinne Bailey Rae's song entitled "just like a star". I remember the first time i saw this talented female. It was around 2 a.m. a few years ago and i was watching Vh1 new artists. Thats when her first music video "put your records on" played and all i could think was who was this teenage girl with this amazing voice, later on I found out that she was born in 1979.

Corinne Bailey Rae was born in Leeds to a black Kittitian father and a white English mother as the oldest of three daughters. She started her first album "Corrine Bailey Rae" in 2005, which sold over 1.9 million copies in the U.S. because of songs like "just like a star" and "put your records on", which happens to be her biggest hit to date. Because of her talent, Rae was nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist at the 2007 Grammy Awards Ceremony. The following year she went on to win Album of the Year and Best Contemporary Jazz Album. In 2008 Rae experienced a tragic loss when her husband, Jason Rae was found dead in the Hyde Parks area of Leeds from a overdose of methadone and alcohol. "All Time Favorites" Nunmber one rap group ever. N.W.A!

N.W.A for those of you who do not recognize the acronym you better ask somebody!  For the most part of the 1980's they were the most recognized bad boy club of rappers that ever lived.  Before 2pac, biggie and marshal mathers, better know as "Eminem".  There most popular song and the national anthem of the getto's would have to be "F_ck the police".  During the years of the rodney king beating days, they used there mass appeal to bring light to the injustice that most youth in the projects were facing, brought on by corrupt police force of the L.A Police Dept.  Their fame was set in stone with the help of Al Sharpton, when he approached the FCC to ban the violent message and degradation of women in rap music.  All though they were loved by many, they decided to separate as most groups do to pursue a larger payday. Although they make music, the degradation of women should not be condoned, on the other hand a more positive approach would have net them a larger audience.  (KAGE).

Ludacris

"Watch out for my medallion the diamonds are wreckless, feels like a midget is hanging from my necklace." That is one of the lines that stands out from my all time favorite rapper Ludacris song titled "stand up". Christopher "Ludacris" Bridges was born in Champaign, Illinois, but later moved to Atlanta Georgia where he studied music management at Georgia State University. This talented artist has been a big part of music industry when he came out with his first album "Back for the First Time" back in 2000. This included two of his biggest hits "Whats Your Fantasy" and "Southern Hospitality". Since then he has been able to release six more albums. They are Chicken-N-Beer(2003), The Red Light District(2004), Release Therapy(2006), Theatre of the Mind(2008), and Battle of the Sexes(2010). He is also the co founder of Disturbing Da Peace record label. Like most music artist, Ludacris decided to venture into the world of acting. You can catch him im movies such as 2 Fast 2 Furious(2001), Max Payne(2008), and Hustle & Flow(2005).

Thuggish Ruggish Bone

Whats up everybody? In this blog I wanted to talk about my all time favorite rap group, Bone Thugs N Harmony. Bone Thugs is a rap group that was started by five artist from Cleveland Ohio in 1991. The members are Krayzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Flesh n Bone, Wish Bone, and Layzie Bone so you can see were they picked the name of the group from. The group became real popular once they signed a record deal with Eric "Eazy E" Wright back in 1994 under Ruthless Records. In 1995 they received a Grammy Award for their song "Crossroads" which talked about losing the important people in their life. A few of my favorite songs from them would have to be "first of the month", "no surrender", "crossroads", and "money money".

ALL time favorite President

Mr. Bill Clinton my all time favorite president, not only unitied everyone in the U.S. but people all over the world.Mr.Clinton made decisions that helped our economy rise off the ground.Clinton led us into a war not by choice but force and won, he made everyone fill like our president was a normal guy trying to help the normal people. That is why i consider Mr.Bill Clinton my all time favorite president.

Michael Jordan the worlds greatest athlete,buissness mogal.He changed the epitome of sports and buissness, Michael jordan not only became one of the most feared basketball players on the court.He managed to win 6 championships,6 mvps of the finals, multiple league mvps,all-star for most of his 14 year career. Also Jordan changed the way the league looked he but style,flavor, and swag to the locker room and the court. Thats why hes my all time favorite ball player.

Lil wayne the best rapper alive is known for his metophorical lyrics and awesome punch lines.He's made more songs than any oter artist alive. Currently he has his own label named Young Money that features over 12 artists.His ability to deliver diverse line after line is truly unhuman.He has been rappingg since 9 signed to cash money since 12. That dedication,determination,and hard work is why he is my all time favorite rapper.

All Time Favorite Dessert- PECAN PIE

After indulging in a good home cooked meal its always room for dessert especially in the Banks Family. Our meals just arent complete without my grandmother's homemade Pecan Pie. Now alot of you all might not like Pecan Pie I was skepitcal at first but after hearing my grandmother whine stating "You havent even tried it to be complaining talking bout its nasty!"So....evidently I tasted my grandmas homemade pecan pie and it was DELICIOUS!!! Fresh pecans, homemade pie crust from scratch, and Kyrup syrup....The pie will have you begging and tasting for more. Now you all may have a all time favorite dessert I would love to hear yours????

The Answer

Thats right, my all time favorite basketball player has to be non other than "The Answer" Allen Iverson. Allen Iverson joined the NBA back in 1996 when he was drafted by the Philadephia 76ers as the number one overall pick. Since then he has been a dominating force on the court. Throughout his career, Iverson has went on to play for teams such as the Detroit Piston, Memphis Grizzles, and Denver Nuggets. One moment that stands out in his career is the time when he put a nice cross over move on the legend Michael Jordan. The move was so good that they decided to ban it from the NBA. I guess they didnt want anybody to make MJ look like a clown back then. I can say that the only thing AI hasnt done is wni a NBA Champsionship, but hopefully he returns to the league and gets one.

Can you dig it!?!?

In this blog I want to talk about one of my all time favorite movies, The Warriors. The Warriors is about a gang from Coney Island, NY, known as The Warriors, that gest framed for killing the leader of the biggest gang in New York during a statewide meeting in the Bronx. Throughout the movie they have to find different ways to make it across NYC while running into different enemies that want to take them out. The movie debuted on February 9th, 1979 in 670 theaters and made $3.5 million on its opening weekend.

All time favorite movie!!!

I think without a doubt my all time favorite movie would have to be Scarface..... Even though it did horrible with the critics and reviews, it had a great plot and the sub conscience message behind it was a powerful benefit to african americans...... The idea of the main character coming into america with nothing to his name, and single handed made the american dream a reality set the bar and the standards for what we like to label " Coming up in the world" He said the world was his and he treated it as such,...... Al Pacino gave a great perf0rmance as Antonio Montana in my opinon.... What do you guys think?

Although she was an all time favorite, she also was human. Something I think society failed to realize!! They looked to her as being an idol without looking to see whether she carried flaws or not. I seldomly liked her music. It was always sad and about love and heartbreak but she was an extaordinary SINGER!!!! Even though Whitney hasnt came out with anything new her music still flows thru her fans and with her just in the crowd now not perfroming or singing doesnt hurt her in any kind of manner. She will always be THAT woman with the VOICE!!!

 She was more than just TALENT!!! She possessed quality, originality, and uniquness. Hearing, Seeing, or just talking about this idol makes me think of how talented she was and how she was loved so much by so many, she was different from other female artist she brought a lot to the entertainment industry and has helped a lot of people in her career. She will never be missed due to the fact that she was more than a woman that could sing or was beautiful she brought everything to the table when it came to singing!!!! Death of Micheal Jackson

Knowing that a person with so much respect, dignity and love died without saying Goodbye or get to do his concert on the road really shocked me. I felt as if he brought so much to his race and was an example to all people that if you want something done and you believe a change can be made it can be.  Even though he may have had a hard life.(We all have hardships and burdens) but he still pressed on due to the talent and the things that he thought would make the world a better place!! He was loved by plenty, along with the support of his mother, sisters, and brothers Micheal changed the way we all looked at music. I will always think and converse on how Micheal endured all of his hardships, we as people dont know what the music industry is all about behind close doors as well as knowing what Micheal went through as growing up and as while being a child. Thoughts run through my mind as I sit back and try to relate to the things Micheal went through as growning up. I solemly wonder did he ever have a childhood? Did he get into trouble at school? was he smart in his academics?? Questions like this make me wonder......
